This wrap gives your hive strong winter protection with a much easier setup — and you can use it again next season.
① Sets up in Under a Minute
Wrap it around the hive, secure the two Velcro and buckles, and you're done. If the weather changes, you can take it off and put it back on in seconds.
② 4 Layers in 1 Wrap
The black outer layer is made from waterproof polyester fiber. It helps block rain and snow while the black surface absorbs heat from the sun. The inside has PE silver-coated cloth that helps reflect heat back toward the hive.
③ Buckles & Velcro Strips
Two large buckles and two wide Velcro strips hold the wrap tight around the hive. No staples, tape, or loose foam panels. It stays secure through wind, rain, snow, and winter storms.

Your Bees Will Burn Less Honey
In winter, bees cluster together and burn stored honey to make heat. The colder it gets, the harder they work and the more honey they use.
Our 4-layer wrap slows heat loss and blocks cold wind that can disturb the cluster. This helps your girls stay warmer, work less, and burn less honey — preventing running out of food (starvation), and leaving more honey for spring harvest.

Will this fit my 8-frame hive?
Does it cause internal moisture buildup?
Yes. Both sizes fit standard 8-frame and 10-frame Langstroth hives. The wrap is 76.8' long and closes with wide Velcro strips plus 2 buckles, so you can tighten it for a snug fit on either width. For height, see 'Sizing & Fit' above.
Does it cause internal moisture buildup?
The wrap covers the sides of the hive only — the top and the entrance stay uncovered, so warm, moist air can still escape through your top vent or upper entrance. Because the side walls stay warmer, less condensation forms on the inside walls. As with any winter wrap, we recommend keeping an upper entrance or a moisture board / quilt box on top.
How long does the wrap last?
With proper care and off-season storage, your HiveGuard wrap is designed to last for 3 to 5 winter seasons without losing its protective qualities.
Is it easy to store in summer?
Yes, the wrap is flexible and folds completely flat, taking up very little space in your shed or garage during the spring.
When should I put the wrap on?
We recommend installing your HiveGuard wrap before the first major frost, usually once daytime temperatures consistently stay below 50°F.
Can I still access entrance?
Absolutely. The wrap includes a precision-cut entrance slot so your bees can take cleansing flights whenever weather permits.
